I have lived in Lumby since 1995. I am a GP, married to another GP and have two daughters of school age.
Together with Doug Fletcher and Andy Robinson, I have been part of the Liaison Group which has been meeting with the A1 construction firms. One of the reasons I agreed to part of this Liaison Group was to ensure that the land occupied by the present compound was returned to a green-field site at the conclusion of the road-building programme. This, naturally, led to the formation of PLANET when we heard that there were moves to apply for a quarry on this site.

I feel very strongly that we, as local residents, must keep ourselves aware of such potential environmental threats and be prepared to act. I we remain passive, time and plans will overtake us, leaving us with no say in what is happening to hamlet and the surrounding land.

I urge to join us. Together we have a chance. As a disparate group of individuals we will fall.
